About the Apprenticeship
A Digital Marketer outlines, plans, builds and implements marketing promotions through a wide range of media sources to capture customer purchases, commitment and retention. They will work as part of a team and will be responsible for the administrative features of the marketing campaign.

On-programme: What apprentices need to learn
Apprentices need to complete 20% off-the-job training during the on-programme phase of their apprenticeship. Specific rules govern this and it must take place in the apprentice’s contracted hours.
Technical knowledge and understanding is assessed through a combination of Ofqual-regulated knowledge modules or specified vendor and professional qualification.
What You'll Be Learning
Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Online and Offline Marketing
Some of the topics covered include:
- The key components of a marketing campaign
- The different channels to engage different customers within different segments
- The benefits, limits and risks of customer relationship marketing
- The importance of collaboration in delivering marketing campaigns, including typical team structures, shared objectives and how to influence others
Level 3 Certificate in Digital Marketing Business Principles
Some of the topics covered include:
- Specialist digital marketing and social media platforms
- How digital marketing works within the business environment
- Digital etiqutte and effective communication
- Bringing tradition marketing into the digital age
Level 3 Award in Principles of Coding
Some of the topics covered include:
- How the web works
- The various coding languages
- Hardware and software
- How to utilise this understanding and implement it into your working life
Google Analytics IQ
Some of the topics covered include:
- What is Google Analytics
- SEO, Websites and Reporting
- Understanding URLs and making the most of Google
- Google and digital marketing
WHAT WILL BE EVIDENCED
Gateway Requirements
As part of our End Point Assessment process the apprentice must develop a range of knowledge, skill and behaviours.

How apprentices demonstrate their learning
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
To demonstrate your understanding, you will be assessed in the following ways:
Synoptic Project
A four-day assessment against a defined project. The assessment must be conducted off-the-job within a controlled environment.
Employer Reference
A written statement will be required from the manger/mentor on the overall performance of the apprentice.
Summative Portfolio
Apprentices will present workplace evidence from their job role and work projects which demonstrates their knowledge, competence and behaviours consistently.
Interview
An opportunity for the apprentice to discuss their portfolio of evidence with an independent end point assessor from an accredited awarding body.
